scars

the intensity of this
desire
to live in a world
that's better than this

her hands
around my waist

pushing into each other
i am consumed
by her
by her
strength
by her
passion
by this moment
by this

words bounce off
walls all
around us
feeling the fear
of being a woman
of being queer
of being someone
who wants so much more
than what this world is
being someone
who demands more
who lives life as if
there is more

the power of this moment
of this intensity
of this passion
of this desire
my back against the wall
someone telling us
to get a room
but this whole world
is our room
and we will make room
for us
for this
we will not disappear

i wear this body
like a scream
i exist within this
resistance
and we create something
so massive
that it silences their
shouts and stares
it makes their lies
so unimportant

we are the loudest
brightest
star
in this sky
of so much darkness
and they can't
smother the intensity
of this flame
this kiss is resistance
